LAA Bird Show
The Lafayette Art Association’s second installment of their Bird Show, “Birds Of A Feather” (2024) came at a time when I had just started getting back into making prints. Encouraged by fellow artist Kay Jeansonne to submit a piece, I created a multi-block print of a soaring turkey vulture. This was my first ever submission of work to an open gallery calling. The piece, titled “Soaring Upward”, at the juried show opening won a Judge’s Pick award and was purchased that day by the LAA’s residing president. This show was a monumental step forward on my journey of artistic pursuit.
Included among the images are pictures of the creation of the block and the initial set of prints and editions. Additionally I have included pictures from the event with myself and Kay Jeansonne (with her Best In Show award).
